MegaFon says to merge stores with subsidiary Yota’s retail by 2024

MOSCOW, Oct 4 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator MegaFon and its subsidiary Yota will merge their retail chains by the end of 2023 to improve efficiency, cut costs of chain development by a third, and raise traffic in the stores by 15%, MegaFon said on Tuesday in a statement.

“Working with the subsidiaries, we always look for synergy and are aimed at maximum efficiency. Now Yota subscribers can add services and a consultation at any store in all the regions of MegaFon’s presence,” MegaFon Chief Operating Officer Oleg Telyukov said.

“Although MegaFon and Yota as connection operators have absolutely different audiences in consumption of mobile services, their needs for services and purchase of gadgets are identical.”

The initiative includes opening of new stores and a merger of the existing. All the employees of the stores are trained to answer any client question about the two operators.
